Ressources

Welcome! Here are some ressources that I find worth knowing about. Don’t hesitate to 💓 & 💰!

The women from Jinwar, Syria, and Flamingo e.V., Berlin

Much to say about these women who, after ISIS finally was defeated in the region, built their own village, with a bakery, a school, and a health center, Sîfa Jin. 🌬️🌱💪

In Berlin, Flamingo e.V. has created the Hevrîn Xelef Heilkräutergarten, a herbal garden in Neukölln, inspired by the women in Jinwar, and named after the politician who was assassinated in 2019. The network of women activists also offers legal help, self-defence classes, etc. There are countless beautiful things to discover there so please visit this page.

Eventually, several groups of women have teamed up and created Band of Sisters, between Syria and Germany. You can find their products here, follow the Instagram account, talk to it with your friends and loved ones, order some products, make them 💸, because they’re fantastic, and they’re my friends 💓.

The women from Samrakshak Samuha Nepal (Sasane)

Nepal’s young population is prone to human trafficking. The situation for young women is often worse than their male counterpart. If they manage to return to their home countries, they often face ostracism and shame, on top of social and economic isolation. Sasane was created by some of these women to combat social ills. They provide shelter, education, legal action to many women in great need of it. They’re worth knowing and supporting.

The women from Panzi, Congo

A somehow better known project, the City of Joy and the Panzi Foundation are revolving around empowering (and healing) for and from the women in Eastern Congo, where conflict related to mineral extraction are devastating the region. You can read all about it here and here. You’ve probably heard about it when the gynecologist Dr. Mukwege, together with Nadia Murad, got the Nobel Peace Prize in 2018.

In Paris, there’s an association, Loba, aiming at promoting healing from sexual violence through dance, Bolewa Sabourin is a lovely man and you can support them too.
